If you want strategy and tactics go to Blue Card. \u00a0If you want planning, budgeting and all that other “Chief Stuff” then go it the National Fire Academy or college. \u00a0If you want to learn about\u00a0yourself, focus on some essential boss skills and are committed to improvement, then you are in the right place. \u00a0All of our training programs are\u00a0developed\u00a0for and delivered to Fire and EMS people that either want to be or are in an entry to mid level management position.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>FIRO-B, Myers Briggs, IQ, Johari Windows, blah, blah blah – all nice to play with but these are only snapshots of \u00a0parts of you that cannot be changed, only adapted to. \u00a0Emotional Intelligence and step by step boss skills like coaching and counseling, can be learned, and you can change the way you react, manage and lead, but you have to be willing to do the work.<\/p>\n

The sad fact is that our organizations are overwhelmed with mandatory training that directly relates to fire\u00a0fighting, emergency incident management,\u00a0specialty\u00a0emergency ops or patient care. \u00a0Management and leadership development take a back seat, especially prior to promotion. \u00a0We promote for tactical\u00a0proficiency – great medic, you’re in, awesome pump operator\/driver, move to the right seat! \u00a0Go through the\u00a0promotional\u00a0process enough times and you’ll figure it out, but ultimately, find a good role model, emulate them, try not to make too many career ending mistakes, and eventually you’ll get it – you hope.\u00a0 Our focus is on your performance and attitude and giving\u00a0you a set of tools to improve, and use effectively throughout your career and even outside your emergency services life.\"\"<\/p>\n
